Anything on DVD this week?

After putting up lots of new stuff the past couple of weeks, we’re in a bit of a lull here at Animated Views, but we have some more items coming soon. I’m looking over the DVD release of The Pebbles And Bamm-Bamm Show (ooooh, the nostalgia of it!!!), and will have a review up shortly. Ben has a bunch of reviews cooking, but he’s swamped with real life this week, so I’m here to fill the gap with some reminders of what’s out on DVD this week.

And so, on DVD this week… well, it’s pretty slim pickings, actually. Sci-fi buffs who have HD DVD players can finally check out I Am Legend, and plenty of us are interested in seeing Terry Gilliam’s The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen on DVD or Blu-ray, but as far as animation goes, things look sparse. Ben 10 fans could check out the live action Ben 10: Race Against Time, then there’s TMNT: Season 6, or the Blu-ray release of the game Space Ace. Hmmm… Rugrats – Tales from The Crib: Three Jacks & A Beanstalk anyone?

Personally, there’s a Houdini movie set that looks fascinating, plus the Japanese nutters sci-fi show The Super Robot Red Baron, but even then I’m not feeling too tempted. I guess I’ll save some money this week. At least we got the formal press release for the upcoming Popeye releases to whet our appetite for June 17.

Fortunately, we also have a great set to look forward to next week when the next volume of Woody Woodpecker appears! Wow, that was fast, eh? In the meantime, I’ll be watching a few hours of Pebbles And Bamm-Bamm . Ben will be back Friday to wrap up the week and announce the winner of the Tom & Jerry contest. Catch ya later!
